It’s Time to Rise Up

It’s Time to Rise Up

Psalm 130 calls us to reflect on the depths of our souls and the steadfast love of our Creator. In this time of transition, how does waiting on the Lord deepen our faith journey and inspire hope?

We will explore the book of Psalms at the base camp of our church community, near and far. Join us as we honor Pastor Isiah’s two years of ministry at Prospect Park UMC. We will explore spiritual practices, observe the Sabbath, learn sacred stories, sing, pray, reflect, refuel, and revive our sense of reverence!

SCRIPTURE: Psalm 130 (UMH 838)

Sung Response: In my distress I cry to the Lord: “Deliver me, O Lord.”

Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord!
Lord, hear my voice!
Let your ears be attentive
to the voice of my supplications!
If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities,
Lord, who could stand?
But there is forgiveness with you,
that you may be worshiped.
I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
in the Lord’s word I hope;
my soul waits for the Lord
more than those who watch for the morning,
more than those who watch for the morning.
O Israel, hope in the Lord!
For with the Lord there is steadfast love,
with the Lord is plenteous redemption.
And the Lord will redeem Israel
from all iniquities.
