SCRIPTURE & SONG
Acts 2:1-13, Acts 2:1-4
ONE: When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place.
ALL: And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting.
ONE: Divided tongues, as of fire, appeared among them, and a tongue rested on each of them.
ALL: All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability.
Spirit of the Living God
ONE: [singing] Spirit of the Living God Fall afresh on me. Spirit of the living God, Fall afresh on me.
ALL: [singing] WAKE me, LIFT me, FILL me, MOVE me, Spirit of the living God, Fall afresh on me
Acts 2:5-6
ONE: Now there were devout Jews from every nation under heaven living in Jerusalem.
ALL: And at this sound the crowd gathered and was bewildered, because each one heard them speaking in the native language of each.
ONE: All were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?”
ALL: But others sneered and said, “They are filled with new wine.”
Spirit of the Living God
ALL: [singing] Spirit of the Living God Fall afresh on us. Spirit of the living God, Fall afresh on us. SHAKE us, CHANGE us, MEND us, SEND us, Spirit of the living God, Fall afresh on us.
Acts 2:12-13, adapted
ONE: People of Judea and all who live in Jerusalem, let this be known to you; listen to what Peter says.
ALL: “Indeed, these are not drunk, as you suppose, for it is only nine o’clock in the morning. No, this is the prophesy spoken through the prophet Joel. The prophesy has come to pass!”
Spirit of the Living God
ONE: Spirit of the Living God
ALL: Fall afresh on us.
ONE: Spirit of the living God,
ALL: Fall afresh on us. CALL us, GROW us, DARE us, BE WITH us, Spirit of the living God, Fall afresh on us.
